A police official investigating the quadruple homicide of four University of Idaho students said he received a tip about a stabbing Fox last year in Salem, Oregon.

The official, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was contacted by a woman who said she had information about the four murders. The woman told the official that her boyfriend, Fox, had confessed to her that he had stabbed four University of Idaho students in Salem, Oregon.

The official said he contacted the Salem Police Department and was told that there was no record of any such incident. The official said he then contacted the FBI and was told that they were not investigating any murders in Salem, Oregon.

The official said he is convinced that the tip is credible and is urging the Salem Police Department to open an investigation.
