After years of ceding ground to China and Ukraine, Republicans are ready to take a more

In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, members of the Fox News GOP are looking to make some changes to America's foreign policy. Here are five key ways they may shift the country's approach to the rest of the world:

1. Taking a tougher stance on China. In recent years, China has been increasingly aggressive in its territorial claims in the South China Sea and elsewhere. The Trump administration is likely to take a harder line on Chinese aggression, whether it be through increased naval patrols in disputed areas or by slapping tariffs on Chinese imports.

2. Putting more pressure on Russia. The Fox News GOP is likely to put more pressure on Russia than the Obama administration did. This could take the form of economic sanctions or stepped-up support for NATO allies in Eastern Europe who are fearful of Russian aggression.

3. Defunding Planned Parenthood and other global health initiatives. The Republican Party has long opposed funding for Planned Parenthood and other global health initiatives, and President Trump is likely to follow suit. This could have devastating consequences for women's health and reproductive rights around the world.

4. Pulling out of the Paris climate agreement. President Trump has already signaled his intention to withdraw from the landmark Paris climate agreement, which would make America one of only three countries not party to the agreement (the other two being Syria and Nicaragua). This would further isolate America on the world stage and damage our credibility on environmental issues.

5. Cutting foreign aid. The Trump administration is likely to propose significant cuts to foreign aid, which could have devastating consequences for developing countries that rely on such assistance for basic needs like food, water, and healthcare.
