"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Blasts Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in Explosive Tirade Over Her Independent Decision!"

One of the most recognizable faces in Congress, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), took to Twitter on Wednesday to criticize Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) for her decision to become an independent senator.
The news that Sinema had decided to go independent was first reported by The Arizona Republic and confirmed later in the day by Sinema herself in a statement released on social media.
In her statement, Sinema said that she felt “making a difference for Arizonans” was more important than party labels and that she would continue to work with both Republicans and Democrats in order to find common ground on issues like healthcare, immigration, and the economy.
Ocasio-Cortez responded soon after with a series of tweets criticizing Sinema for what she called “cozying up” to Republican interests in exchange for political gain. She also accused her of “leaving the door open” for Republicans to take control of the Senate.
The feud between the two senators has been brewing since last year when Ocasio-Cortez endorsed Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign while Sinema supported Joe Biden's candidacy instead. The two have also clashed over their views on climate change as well as other policy issues.
It remains unclear if this latest episode will further strain relations between Ocasio Cortez and Sinema or if they can find common ground going forward. One thing is certain though; their rivalry is sure to keep political watchers around the country entertained in these coming months ahead of the 2022 midterms elections.
