"Dan Campbell Lauds Steve Wilks After Tough Loss to Carolina Panthers"

On Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Lions suffered a disappointing loss to the Carolina Panthers. But despite the loss, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was quick to give props to his counterpart on the other sideline.

In his post-game press conference, Campbell gave high praise for interim Panthers head coach Steve Wilks, who took over for Ron Rivera after he was fired in December. "I thought Steve did an outstanding job with this team," said Campbell. "He had them well prepared and they had a great game plan."

Campbell wasn't alone in his admiration of Wilks' work as several of his players also expressed their respect for the man who led them to victory on Sunday. "Coach Wilks is a great leader," said defensive end Trey Flowers. "He commands respect and knows how to get the best out of his players."

Wilks himself was grateful for the kind words from Campbell and others around the league. “It’s always nice to hear positive things from people you have a lot of respect for," said Wilks.

While it's uncertain what lies ahead for Wilks and the Panthers, one thing is certain: there are plenty of people around the NFL who appreciate his work as an interim head coach — including one in particular from Detroit.
