For many families, the holiday season is a time of joy, but for some, it can be a time of financial strain. That's why, this Thanksgiving, the Jackson Police Department is handing out turkeys to 150 residents in Michigan.
"We know that times are tough for a lot of people right now and we wanted to do something to help alleviate some of the stress that comes with this time of year," said Jackson Police Chief Elmer Hitt. "We hope that by providing families with a free turkey, we can help make their Thanksgiving a little brighter."
