A-list celebrities are slamming Kanye West over recent tweets that are being viewed as anti-Semitic.
The rapper, who has sparked controversy in the past for his remarks on race and religion, took to Twitter earlier this week to share a series of messages that many are deeming as offensive.
"There's been a lot of fake news so I just wanted to let y'all know that I haven't lost my mind," West wrote in one tweet. "I'm just focused on my family, my music, and my fashion brand."
But it was West's subsequent tweets about the "media" and "the Jews" that drew the most ire from Hollywood insiders.
"The media is so evil and manipulative now," he wrote. "I can't even look at it anymore. I'm so tired of all the lies."
In another tweet, West said: "To be great is to be hated by the world." He then added: "The Jews know this."
West's comments were met with quick condemnation from a number of high-profile figures in the entertainment industry.
"Kanye!!! You're way too talented and influential to spew such hateful, ignorant nonsense," actor Seth Rogen tweeted. "I hope you realize how hurtful and stupid this sounds to people like me who know and love you."
Director Judd Apatow also spoke out against West, writing: "You have changed so much I no longer recognize you. You are a disgrace."
Model Chrissy Teigen, who is married to West's close friend John Legend, also weighed in on the situation, tweeting: "This is sad and embarrassing."
It remains to be seen how West will respond to the latest backlash against him. But if history is any indication, he is unlikely to back down from his controversial statements anytime soon.
