Bevin Prince, the star of the hit television show "One Tree Hill," is opening up about her husband William Friend's terrifying brush with death. Last month, while boating in North Carolina, Friend was struck by lightning.

Prince told People magazine that she and Friend had been on a boat ride with friends when a storm suddenly blew in. “We were out on the lake and all of these storms just came up very quickly,” said Prince. “The lightning started and we were trying to get back to shore as quickly as possible.”

Unfortunately, their boat was struck by lightning before they could make it to safety. Friend was thrown from the boat by the force of the strike and knocked unconscious for several minutes before being revived by emergency medical personnel who arrived on the scene.

Friend suffered minor burns from the lightning strike but miraculously escaped serious injury or death. He has since recovered from his ordeal and is back to his regular activities thanks to quick-thinking medical personnel and Prince's quick action in getting help for her husband.

Her experience has made her more mindful of weather conditions before going out on any watercrafts. She encourages others to do the same in order to stay safe while enjoying outdoor activities: “Always be aware of your surroundings because you never know what can happen."
