Nord, the yacht of Russian tycoon Alexey Mordashov, has been sanctioned by the United States, United Kingdom and European Union after Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
Mordashov, who is worth an estimated 3.4 billion according to Forbes, is the owner of Severstal, a steel company. He is also a shareholder in several other companies, including Russian Railways.
The Nord was built in Germany and is one of the largest yachts in the world, measuring nearly 200 feet long. It has a pool, helipad and luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests.
The sanctions against Mordashov are part of a larger effort to target wealthy Russians with ties to the Kremlin. Other oligarchs who have been sanctioned include Gennady Timchenko, Vladimir Yakunin and Arkady Rotenberg.
