As the holiday season approaches, Americans in the nation's capital have revealed what gifts they would give to members of the opposite political party as peace offerings. Surprisingly, while most people chose traditional items such as books, flowers, and chocolates, one group included a surprising item - foxes!

The idea of gifting foxes as peace offerings came from a small but dedicated group of animal-lovers in Washington DC. They argued that foxes were perfect for this purpose: they are both cute and cunning, and represent intelligence and wit. In their view, gifting a fox could be seen as a sign of respect for the person receiving it - an indication that one is willing to go beyond traditional gifts, and demonstrate appreciation for different perspectives.

The group decided to gift two fox cubs to members of Congress from opposing parties. The cubs were chosen based on their personality traits and physical characteristics; each was carefully selected according to criteria that emphasized intelligence and wit. They were also given names which reflected their personalities - one was called “Sly” for his craftiness and another “Smart” for her intellect.

The cubs were presented on Capitol Hill during a special ceremony attended by representatives from both sides of the aisle. The event was highly publicized and generated considerable excitement among onlookers who cheered the unusual gift-giving gesture. Afterward, both cubs were happily adopted by members of Congress who gave them homes in their offices or private residences.
