Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing addresses media after being arrested for DUI

Downing was asked about his arrest and how it will affect his job with the Titans.

"I take full responsibility for my actions and I am deeply sorry for the disappointment and embarrassment I have caused my family, friends, teammates, and the Titans organization," Downing said. "I understand that I have a higher standard to uphold as a member of this team, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that this is never an issue again."

Downing was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving under the influence. He was released on bond later that day.

The Titans released a statement Tuesday afternoon saying they were aware of the situation and were gathering more information. The team also said it would handle the matter internally.

This is not the first time a Titans coach has been arrested for DUI. In 2010, then-offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger was arrested on his way to work. Heimerdinger pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation.
