Hayes, who was first elected in 2018, is the state's first black woman to be elected to Congress. She will now serve her second term representing the 5th District, which covers northwestern Connecticut.

Logan, a state senator from Ansonia, had been endorsed by President Donald Trump. But Hayes won handily, with 59% of the vote to Logan's 41%.
