Tom Kim, 20, became the first player since Tiger Woods to win two PGA Tour events before turning 21 when he captured the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Kim, who entered the final round with a one-shot lead, shot a 3-under 68 to finish at 18-under 269 at TPC Summerlin. He won the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi in October for his first PGA Tour title.
“It feels great,” Kim said. “I was trying not to think about (winning) too much. I just wanted to stay in the moment and focus on each shot.”
Kim became the youngest winner of the Shriners event since it moved to Las Vegas in 2008. He joins Woods, Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy as the only players to win multiple PGA Tour events before turning 21 since 1990.
“I grew up watching Tiger Woods and all these great players, and it’s just an honor to be mentioned with them,” Kim said. “Hopefully I can keep doing what I’m doing and keep getting better.”
Chesson Hadley (66) and Matthew Wolff (67) tied for second at 15 under. Wolff, the 2019 NCAA individual champion, was making his pro debut.
