On Wednesday, May 15th at approximately 8:00 PM, police officers responded to a call regarding foxes in the vicinity of the South Alabama campus. Upon arriving, officers encountered Jeremy Reaves, who stated that he had seen a group of foxes running across the street near the university's athletic field. Reaves then led officers to a nearby wooded area where they found four adult foxes and two kits.

Officers attempted to capture the animals but they were too fast. However, further investigation revealed that the animals were living in an abandoned den nearby and were likely part of a larger pack. Officers contacted animal control who will be handling the situation going forward.

Reaves was commended for his quick action in reporting the sighting and helping officers locate the den. He also provided officers with additional information about fox behavior which will help animal control as they attempt to capture and relocate these animals safely.
