Why You Should Be Thankful: The Bible Urges Us Over 100 Times

It was Thanksgiving morning, and the house was already bustling with activity. The turkey was in the oven, the potatoes were boiling, and the pies were cooling on the windowsills. The table was set, and the chairs were pulled up to it. The family was all there, laughter and conversation filling the air.

But in the midst of all of this, one voice was missing. God was not being thanked. Oh, sure, there were plenty of thanks being given for all the good things in life. But not once did anyone stop to thank God for His role in it all.

Finally, after the meal had been eaten and the dishes cleared away, someone spoke up. "It seems to me that we've forgotten something important today," they said. "We haven't thanked God for His blessings."

There was a moment of silence as everyone realized what had been done. Then, one by one, they began to thank God for His goodness. For His love. For His provision. For His grace.

It was a Thanksgiving that would be remembered for years to come, not just because of the food or the company, but because of the realization that everything we have comes from God. And we should always be thankful for His blessings.
