Dan Bongino criticizes media's "upset" reaction to Tesla's Elon Musk

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter on Tuesday to renew his proposal to take the social media company private, and Fox News host Dan Bongino was not happy with the reaction from the media.

"The media's upset that Elon Musk is trying to buy Twitter," Bongino said on "Unfiltered with Dan Bongino." "Can you imagine the outrage if Donald Trump tried to buy Twitter?"

Bongino went on to say that he believes the media is only upset because they know Musk would be a more conservative voice on the platform.

"The only reason they're upset is because they know, if he bought it, he would use it as a conservative platform," Bongino said. "That's what they're really worried about."

Musk first floated the idea of taking Tesla private in August, but later abandoned the plan. He has since been embroiled in controversy after tweeting that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private at 20 per share, which led to an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
