Florida Man Found Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity After Allegedly Trying to Fox His Parents!

On August 5th, 2020 at approximately 2pm, the police were dispatched to a residence in Orlando, Florida regarding an incident involving two adult persons and their son. Upon arrival, officers were greeted by a distraught woman who identified herself as [Name], mother of the accused. She stated that her son, [Name], had attacked her and her husband with a bat after they attempted to take away his cellphone while he was playing video games.
The victim's father, [Name], had sustained severe injuries to his head and arms due to the attack. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, officers attempted to detain the accused but he managed to flee the scene on foot.
A search for him ensued and he was found approximately one mile away from the family home in a heavily wooded area. After being apprehended, officers noted that the accused displayed signs of mental illness including disorientation and incoherence when asked questions. The accused was subsequently taken into custody and transferred to a state mental health facility for further evaluation and treatment.
After review of all evidence presented in court it was determined that the accused was not guilty by reason of insanity and will be committed indefinitely until deemed fit for society.
