"I get it": Joe Musgrove on Mets calling for sticky substance check

Joe Musgrove of the San Diego Padres was unfazed when the New York Mets called for a sticky substance check in the middle of his windup during Wednesday's game.
"I don't think it really fazed me too much," Musgrove said. "I understand why they did it. I don't know if there was anything on my hand or not."
The umpires came out to check Musgrove's glove after Mets manager Mickey Callaway asked them to take a look. Callaway said he noticed something on Musgrove's arm and wanted to make sure nothing illegal was going on.
"It's just part of the game," Musgrove said. "You've got to be ready for anything."
Musgrove said he didn't think the incident affected his pitching and he went on to retire the next three batters he faced. He ended up pitching seven innings and giving up two runs in the Padres' 3-2 win.
