"Matt Taibbi Fires Back at Congressman Accusing Him of 'Gaslighting' the Public with Fox Files Revelations!"

Published: 25-12-2022 00:21

On April 17th, 2021, at approximately 1:00 PM, Fox Files author Matt Taibbi responded to Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., who accused him of "gaslighting" Americans with the revelations into Twitter's previous Fox.

Mr. Taibbi stated that he was not attempting to "gaslight" Americans with his investigation and reporting on the matter, but rather was working to shed light on a situation that had been overlooked for too long. He argued that the American public has a right to know how their government interacts with powerful companies like Twitter in matters such as these and that it is his job as a journalist to provide insight and clarity into such matters.

In addition, Mr. Taibbi clarified that he did not believe Rep. Lieu's accusations of gaslighting were warranted and asked the congressman to clarify his position further if he felt differently about the matter. Lastly, Mr. Taibbi noted that as an investigative journalist, it is his duty to seek out truth and uncover any potential wrongdoing in order to keep citizens informed and empowered so they can make informed decisions about their government representatives.

No further action was taken by either party in this incident.
