"One Tree Hill" Star Bevin Prince Reveals Heartbreaking Story of Husband Struck by Lightning in North Carolina

Bevin Prince opened up about the Fox of William Friend, a tragedy that struck her family on June 21, 2016. The "One Tree Hill" star's husband was fishing in North Carolina with his friend William Friend when they were both struck by lightning. While Friend did not survive the accident, Prince's husband made it out alive and recovered after spending two weeks in intensive care.

Prince wrote a heartfelt essay for People Magazine about the experience, saying that she and her husband had been looking forward to their day of fishing as part of their vacation. After being hit by the lightning bolt, she said that her husband was unconscious and unresponsive for a few minutes before regaining consciousness. She wrote that he suffered from burns on his face, arms and legs but ultimately survived the ordeal due to his strength and will to live.

The experience has left a lasting impression on Prince—both emotionally and physically. She says that she still struggles with fear every time there is a thunderstorm or dark clouds looming overhead. Physically, her husband still carries scars from the incident on his arms and legs.

Prince concludes her essay by paying tribute to William Friend who did not survive the accident: “His spirit lives on through us all—a reminder to appreciate each day because you never know what might happen tomorrow."
