The incredible story of Steve Tazumi and Tom Patterson began in a Japanese orphanage four decades ago. Although separated at birth, the two brothers have recently been reunited after living separate lives for so long.
Tom Patterson was adopted by an American family in 1974, when he was just a baby. He grew up in Alaska and had no inkling that he had a brother until he turned 18. At that point, Tom decided to search for his biological parents in Japan. After extensive research, he discovered that his brother Steve had also been adopted by an American family in 1976.
Steve's adoptive parents were from Oregon and raised him with love and care throughout his childhood. When Steve learned about Tom, he was determined to meet him and find out more about their shared past. In 2015, the two men finally got the chance to reunite at a hotel in Oregon where they talked about their childhoods and experiences as adoptees for hours on end.
"It felt like we'd known each other our whole lives," said Steve after the meeting. "We found out we have so much in common - even down to the same sense of humor!"
The reunion of these two brothers is truly remarkable and inspiring. Despite being separated at birth and living half a world apart for four decades, they managed to connect with one another through sheer determination and hard work. Their story serves as proof that nothing can stand between blood relatives who are determined to be together again - not even time itself!
