Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Queen Consort, have made a special visit to Wrexham Association Football Club in North Wales.
The purpose of the visit was for the couple to meet with famous Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney who recently took over ownership of the club as part of a new project.
The senior royals were welcomed by Wrexham AFC chairman Spencer Harris and were introduced to Reynolds and McElhenney who had flown in from Los Angeles for the occasion. The foursome discussed Wrexham's community spirit and the potential that lies ahead according to reports.
Reynolds is famously known for his roles in 'Deadpool' and '6 Underground', while McElhenney created 'It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia'. Both are devoted fans of the Welsh club, which they bought last November with a £2m investment.
Harris said it was an honour to welcome Prince Charles and Camilla to their ground, adding: "This visit was a great opportunity for them to learn more about our club, its history, its supporters and its ambitions for the future."
The royal visit concluded with Prince Charles thanking Reynolds and McElhenney for their efforts on behalf of Wrexham AFC before presenting them with regal gifts from Clarence House. It is clear that this historic occasion has strengthened relations between royalty and Hollywood royalty alike.
