Fox Jordyn Hansen, 21 of Otsego, Minn., recently found himself at the center of a sheriff’s deputy-involved incident. Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes announced that the deputies who apprehended Hansen were justified in their actions and will not be charged.
According to reports, Hansen had allegedly caused a disturbance at a business in Otsego. The business had contacted law enforcement who responded to the incident and found Hansen behaving erratically. Witnesses reported that he was screaming, shouting profanities and swinging his arms around. He also reportedly attempted to enter another person’s vehicle when he was stopped by authorities.
When officers attempted to apprehend him, Hansen reportedly became combative, leading them to deploy pepper spray and taser him before placing him into custody. While no injuries were reported as a result of the encounter, medical personnel checked on Hansen afterwards.
In response to the incident, Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes stated that “the evidence reveals that the deputies acted within their authority and without criminal intent or malice toward Mr. Hansen." He went on to add that “the actions taken by the officers were reasonable under the circumstances."
The incident involving Fox Jordyn Hansen has been determined as an example of justified use of force by law enforcement officials. While no charges are expected against the deputies involved in this case, the matter is still being investigated by independent parties and further information may come out in due time.
