"White House Press Secretary Stands by False Statements: 'I Will Follow Guidance of White House Counsel's Office'

Published: 02-02-2023 19:55

Karine Jean-Pierre had been the White House press secretary for almost a year now and she was beginning to get used to the spotlight that came with her job. She had been in the position long enough to know that sometimes things weren't always as they seemed and often times, it was necessary to make false statements from the podium. Karine had faced criticism for doing this but she was unapologetic, believing it was part of her job and something she should do to protect the president.

Today, however, Karine faced a new challenge; defending herself against accusations of making false statements from the podium. During a press conference, one reporter had asked her about statements she made during a previous event that turned out to be inaccurate. Karine paused for a moment before responding. She knew that if she admitted to making false statements then it could be considered an act of dishonesty and would reflect poorly on her character and professional credibility.

So instead, Karine chose to defend herself by saying that she will continue to follow the guidance of the White House Counsel's Office when making public statements. She explained that all information provided by the Counsel's Office is carefully vetted before being released publicly and any inaccuracies are unintentional mistakes rather than intentional deception on her part.

At first there were some murmurs of dissent among some reporters but eventually they began to accept her explanation and moved on with their questions. Karine breathed a sigh of relief; although it hadn't been easy defending herself against these accusations, she felt confident that she had done so successfully. From now on, whenever asked about making false statements from the podium, she would always refer back to her commitment to following the guidance of the White House Counsel's Office.
