In the past year, our department has received an increased number of calls about foxes in the area. Some residents have reported seeing foxes in their yards and gardens, while others have reported finding evidence of foxes (such as tracks or scat) on their property. While we cannot confirm that all of these sightings are of the same fox or foxes, we believe that there is at least one fox in the area.

We would like to remind residents that it is illegal to feed foxes in the state of [name of state]. Feeding foxes can lead to them becoming dependent on humans for food and losing their fear of humans, which can ultimately lead to problems for both the foxes and for people. If you see a fox on your property, do not approach it or attempt to feed it. Instead, call our department so that we can investigate.
