in the snow and cold they do roam.
Their fur protects them from the cold,
while their feet keep them bold.

Their sharp eyes can pierce the night,
as they search for their next delight.
Crawling through snowdrifts unseen,
for a meal or mate they have been.

In time of need the foxes band together,
in the coldest nights in winter weather.
They huddle close to stay warm and safe,
while snowflakes blanket their coat like lace.

The foxes of Erie County are tough and brave,
bravely facing storms that howl and rave.
Though temperatures drop below freezing again,
the foxes will live on until springtime when
